This is the view I (Graham) had several times a week heading up the Cape Leveque Road. This is from about halfway up the 90 kms of dirt. Most mornings I stopped to let all the passengers out to take a photo and I like to get out and do the same! Red Dirt Country! This type of red dirt is called "pindan" and it is extraordinarily good at getting into every little nook and cranny and sticking and making everything red for ages.
